1. How do you define a great application?
I define a great application as one that is well-balanced personally and academically. I want to see course rigor and ability to work with others in student groups or leadership programs (i.e. sports, clubs, student council, etc.). A most important element I look for in an application is what I call GANAS. GANAS = determination, resistance, perseverance, ability to get up after taking a fall, not willing to give up and being ready to take on the challenge of an SCU education. I want the serious student devoted to his/her education but also the student willing to partake and contribute to the campus community. If this is you I look forward to reading your application.
2. What inspires your work?
Students and parents confused about the college admission process motivate my everyday desire to assist in this exciting phase of their lives. I am passionate about sharing the amazing educational experience I once enjoyed as an undergraduate at Santa Clara University.
3. What do you do in your spare time?
I love running, boxing, riding horses, riding bulls, long walks along the beach, stargazing, dancing, Mexican music, contributing to my local community in various volunteer positions, reading books, drawing, and challenging myself with home remodel projects.
4. What is your favorite song?
"El Hijo del Pueblo" by Vicente Fernandez
