Apply and Visit Campus
Prospective students may apply for transfer admission using the Common Application. We also encourage prospective students to talk to current students and recent alumni and visit our campus to get a complete picture of SCU. The Visit Our Campus page has more information.
Checking Application Status
We will confirm receipt of your application by sending a notification to the email address in your application. All applicants will also be provided a unique ID and password to check their application status on our eCampus portal. Please check your email spam filters and settings to ensure your email box will allow email from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Getting Started for Transfer Students
To be considered for admission as a transfer student, applicants must have received a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed or be enrolled in a minimum of 8 semester units or 12 quarter units of transferable credit. Currently, the winter (January) and fall (September) academic quarters are open for transfer admission. Transfer students are an integral part of the SCU undergraduate student body.

Transfer Student Admissions Recommendations
Priority is given to students who have satisfied the recommendations outlined below and decisions are contingent upon space availability within our programs and the competitiveness of the applicant pool. Find your school/college and major below to determine what recommendations apply to you.
College of Arts and Sciences—Bachelor of Arts
Majors: Art, Art History, Classics (Ancient Studies, Classical Languages and Literature), Communication, English, History, Modern Languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish), Philosophy, Religious Studies, Performing Arts (Music, Theatre, Dance)
Leavey School of Business—Bachelor of Science in Commerce
Majors: Accounting, Accounting and Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Operations Management & Information Systems
College of Arts and Sciences—Bachelor of Science

Transferring Credits to SCU
Santa Clara is on the quarter system. Transfer students are allowed to transfer up to half of the total number of units required for their specific degree. Transfer coursework must be completed at an accredited institution. Santa Clara follows University of California guidelines on transferable courses. For information about transferable courses, visit www.assist.org. Transfer credit evaluations for individual students are completed after admission to SCU. Students attending one of the local community colleges may refer to the transfer guides to assist them in creating their transfer plans to SCU.
International Transfer Admission
International transfer applicants must meet the admissions requirements listed above. In addition, applicants must also submit Certification of Finances, Proof of English Proficiency, and transcript evaluations. For more detailed information, please visit the International Students page.
