The top accepted freshmen in each academic division (Arts and Sciences, Business, and Engineering) will be named Dean's Scholars. These awards are $8,000 per year for exceptional students.

Jesuit Scholars

The top 50 academically outstanding incoming freshman students who are graduates of any Jesuit high school and who were not selected for other merit awards will be considered for this program. These awards are $5,000 per year.

National Merit Scholarships

Each year Santa Clara University awards four $2,000 National Merit Scholarships to incoming freshmen. Students are selected from those National Merit Finalists who listed SCU as their first choice school.

Army ROTC

The Army ROTC is a campus-based program that offers two-, three-, and four-year scholarships. Two-year scholarships cover partial tuition and are funded by the Army. Three-year scholarships cover partial tuition from the Army while SCU covers on-campus room and board. Four-year scholarships receive partial tuition from the Army and SCU covers the remainder of tuition and on-campus room and board charges. Scholarship winners receive a tax-free stipend ranging from $250-$400 for each academic month, plus an allowance for books and other educational items. Those students accepting an Army ROTC scholarship will incur a military obligation that can be fulfilled by either serving part-time in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, or full-time on active duty.
