Need-Based SCU Scholarship and Grant ProgramsYou do not apply separately for a Santa Clara grant or scholarship. Instead, you can be considered for the scholarships and grants below if you demonstrate financial need by applying for aid through the FAFSA and PROFILE forms. The amount of a Santa Clara grant or scholarship can vary up to full tuition. How to apply for aid Ignatian ScholarshipsEach year, Santa Clara University recognizes one outstanding freshman student from five Jesuit high schools: Jesuit (Carmichael, Calif.), Bellarmine (San Jose), St. Ignatius (San Francisco), Loyola (Los Angeles) and Brophy (Phoenix) to receive the Ignatian Scholarship. Each recipient will receive up to a $7,500 annually renewable scholarship. A $1,000 honorarium will be awarded to students who do not demonstrate financial need. Students are recommended by their high school principal. The Jesuit Community at Santa Clara University funds these awards. Thomas J. Bannan Jesuit High School EndowmentThe Bannan Jesuit High School Endowment is a renewable, need-based award given to graduates from Jesuit high schools nationwide. Up to five new awards are made each year. The scholarship is renewable and awards will not exceed the amount of tuition, room, and board. Alumni Family ScholarshipsA limited number of need-based scholarships are awarded each year to children and grandchildren of Santa Clara University alumni. Candidates are identified from information contained in the application for admission and decisions are made by the Alumni Family Committee in consultation with the Financial Aid Office.
