Campaign for Santa Clara
"Teaching is more than a career, it's a calling," say Michele '01 and John Rugo, endowers of a half-million-dollar scholarship to help students earn their teaching credentials. Michele earned her teaching credential at SCU, then went on to earn a master's degree. Husband John was busy with two business startups. "We both value what a Santa Clara education offers. It's a program that teaches values, ethics, and creativity. We decided that funding scholarships would make a difference in people's lives and make a small contribution to some of the challenges that face society," John says.
