Service to Others
Eight days in El Salvador, says Amber Leage, was long enough to change her life. A member of an SCU-sponsored immersion trip, Amber and fellow students lived the life of villagers in Guarjila, one of the many communities struggling to recover from the recent civil war and the poverty, violence, political instability, and environmental destruction it wrought. "People need the opportunity to change their hearts and learn compassion," says Amber, "and an immersion project is a great way to do that."
