Hispanic Youth Symposium at SCU
One hundred area high school students are expected to attend the 2010 Silicon Valley Hispanic Youth Symposium on SCU campus July 28-31. A collaboration between the Hispanic College Fund, SCU, and the National Hispanic University, the residential program will focus on empowering youth for success in college, career, and community service.
“We are very pleased to host the Hispanic Youth Symposium at Santa Clara University and provide encouragement to Hispanic young people to attend college,” said SCU President Michael E. Engh, S.J. “As a Jesuit university, we have a particular commitment to making college accessible to students who may be the first in their family to go to college.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with Hispanic mentors, attend workshops on college admissions and financial aid, compete for $10,500 in available scholarship funds, and meet with college admissions officers from local schools.
