  • Commonspot Session Timeout

    Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008
The timeout for inactive sessions has been extended to 30 minutes. After a half-hour of inactivity, you'll be logged out of Commonspot.

The timeout for inactive sessions has been extended to 30 minutes.  After a half-hour of inactivity, you'll be logged out of Commonspot.

You might wonder, "why does it have to timeout at all?".  There are a couple of reasons for this control being in place.  One is to guard against unintentionally leaving your site content accessible to someone who happens upon a system that's unattended, but still has an active authoring session going.  That would present the opportunity for unauthorized access to your site's content, and possible content changes or deletions.  Another reason is to help maximize the number of available authoring sessions.  There's a limit to the number of active authoring sessions for the shared user licenses, and so if an authoring session was left active indefinitely, that would reduce the availability of authoring access for other users.

You'll need to login to Commonspot to view this PDF.
