Early this morning, and again between 10 and 10:45 am, we were having trouble with the database server used by Commonspot. That appears to be resolved now, but the system administrators are closely monitoring the server.

We've been able to resolve the Commonspot authoring and replication issues - replication just ran, so anything published on cms between 3:15 yesterday and 2:15 today should now be represented on www.scu.edu.

The power outage planned for Monday, 12/28 at SCU should not impact availability of the Web site. The servers are located in the IT Data Center, which has a backup power supply. We do expect a short duration outage for Internet connections to and from the campus early on the 28th, while a change is made with the university's Internet Service Provider.

We're upgrading Commonspot to the current version (5.1) on the authoring and production Web servers on Tuesday morning, Nov. 17, starting at around 8am. Commonspot authoring will be unavailable for a short time, but we'd expect that it will be accessible by 9am or so. Replication might be offline a bit longer, while we upgrade Commonspot on the three production servers. We should see that back on schedule by 11am.
UPDATE: The upgrade is complete - authoring and replication have been restored.

On Tuesday morning (7/14) one of the database servers that supplies content for the www site failed - this caused sites such as the Phonebook, Event Calendar, and Commonspot blogs and surveys to display errors while the server was offline. On Tuesday night, this database was migrated to new hardware. If you notice that updates or new data submitted on Tuesday to any system on www is not displaying as expected, please contact Brian Washburn in Media Services (x1993).
Update: The outage scheduled (mentioned in today's Site Admin meeting) for 4 to 4:30pm has completed, and access to the blog, survey, and event admin consoles has been restored.

There will be a short interruption in Commonspot authoring access, now planned for Wednesday (4/15) morning. The system operators will be upgrading and patching the authoring server, which will require stopping authoring and Commonspot replication for about an hour. This was originally planned for Tuesday afternoon, but has been rescheduled.
