Displaying Randomly Selected or Rotating Images

This element will display one of the set of images as a randomly selected image, displaying a different image every time the page loads, or as a rotating set of images displayed in sequence.

In the following examples, the "images" parameter was supplied, along with a "display" parameter:

images=http://www.scu.edu/virtualtour/images/mission1lg.jpg, http://www.scu.edu/virtualtour/images/mission2lg.jpg,http://www.scu.edu/virtualtour/images/NobClose.jpg

Links

You can provide a link for each image. Enter a comma-separated list of links- the number of links must be the same as the number of images. If you don't want to provide a link for one of the images, just enter a comma in its place.
Example: links=first link,second link,,fourth link

In the examples on this page, the following links were supplied:

links= http://www.scu.edu, http://www.scu.edu/jesuit, http://www.scu.edu/president

Captions

You may also supply captions for your images. Enter a comma-separated list of captions - the number of captions must be the same as the number of images. If you don't want to provide a caption for one of the images, just enter a comma in its place.
Example: captions=first caption,second caption,,fourth caption

In the examples on this page, the following captions were provided:

captions=Santa Clara Mission Church,Mission Church interior,Nobili Hall tower

Position

You can position the image and caption to the left, center, or right side of the content well by setting this custom parameter:

position=center

If you don't modify this setting, the image will be positioned to the left side.

Display Options

Randomly Selected Images

Requires the "display" parameter: display=random - and the "images" parameter, including a comma-separated list of images.

In this example, one of the three images will be selected and displayed every time the page loads:

Rotating Images

Requires the "display" parameter: display=rotating - and the "images" parameter, including a comma-separated list of images.

Two optional parameters can be provided - "seconds" and "cycles". The default setting for the number of seconds an image will be displaye is 5 seconds - enter "seconds=[number]" to change that. The images will cycle through the complete rotation 5 times by default - modify that by adding the "cycles=[number]" parameter.

In this example, the three images will be displayed in a rotating sequence:
