Print to PDF

Use this element to allow viewers to create a PDF file that includes the content on the current page.  Potential uses for this element would be pages that include content that is likely to be printed and read off-line; pages with especially lengthy text, tables, or graphs.

To view a PDF version of this page, click the "Print to PDF" link below the search form at the upper-right corner of the page.

How to add this element

This element is designed to be used in the "page tools" area of a page or template. That's at the top-right corner of the page - the same location where you would include the "email this page" and "printer-friendly format" page tool elements.

To add the element, open a page or template in Author mode and click the "click to insert new element" link in the page tools area. Then open the Page Tools category in the Element Gallery menu and select the "Print to PDF" element.

That's it. The element will automatically generate a PDF file that includes the content on the current page.

Content Expiration and Freshness Reminder

For content that will be updated on a regular schedule, or where content updates are anticipated, it is a good practice to schedule the expiration of the existing page content, or use the Freshness Reminder to alert the content owner to review the page content at a specified future date.
