Read and Author Page Views

When logged in to Commonspot and viewing a page in the Read view, the page should include the Commonspot icons at the top-right side of the page.  Selecting "Author" from the Page View menu will redraw the page with icons next to each editable element on the page.  Here's how the menu would be displayed in Commonspot 5.

There are four icons associated with this element - the top two icons are associated with the layout element that contains the content:

  • layout The layout properties for the table containing the Rich Text element
  • Cell properties The cell properties for the table cell containing the element
  • element properties The element properties (custom rendering, styles, etc.) for the Rich Text element
  • editThe element content editing options

Commonspot 5 presents just two icons, combining property and editing menus for layout elements and the content within the page layout:

  • Layout properties The table and cell layout properties
  • Element properties and editing The element properties and content editing options
