The Alumni association developed a set of informational pages for the recent Grand Reunion weekend, which included event schedules, faqs, campus map, shuttle and parking information. Providing this information on SCU Mobile is an added convenience for event attendees, and a similar approach would be recommended for other large-scale multi-day events on campus.

SCU faculty, staff and students can now make room reservations in the Learning Commons & Library and in Lucas Hall using SCU Mobile. This had previously only provided a view of current availability - that's still provided, but is extended to allow you to reserve an available room using your mobile device.

The two campus webcam views, in the Mission Gardens and the Benson Fountain, are now available in the mobile site. Look for 'SCU Webcams' in the News section. Mobile visitors to the standard webcam page will be presented with the option to switch to the mobile view.

We're trying something new in the main www.scu.edu site - if someone accesses the standard SCU site using a mobile device (limited to devices that use Javascript), we're displaying a small dialog box that offers to redirect the visitor to the equivalent content on the mobile site. This is now in place for the SCU home page, press releases, course catalog, directory, campus map, library room reservations, and a few other pages.
If the visitor selects the mobile version, we save that preference in the client's browser (for two weeks). The visitor can switch back to the standard version of the mobile site's content by following a "view standard Web page" link.

We've added a couple of things to the mobile site's course catalog section. The class location text in the class detail view is now linked to the mobile campus map. And a new subcategory has been added to the Catalog section for the SCU Summer Program. This includes an overview of the program, schedule, and lists of classes offered in the various sessions.

We're working on another new feature for the mobile site; a list of rooms available to reserve for meetings in the new library. Initially this may not offer the ability to actually reserve a room, but will show what's available at the moment.
