"Food and Feelings" Support Group

SCU is excited and proud to host a weekly, on-campus, support group for individuals struggling with issues surrounding food, including anorexia, bulimia, compulsive exercise, disordered eating, chronic dieting, and body image concerns.

How do I know if this is the right group for me?

  • Do you feel out of control when you eat or in control when you don't?
  • Do you restrict food or starve yourself?
  • Do you constantly compare your body to others?
  • Do you check the "fat" on your body often and notice any new "changes", whether real or imagined?
  • Do you exercise excessively to lose weight?
  • Do you feel you don't deserve to eat?
  • Do you use diet pills or laxatives to control your weight?
  • Do you feel guilty after eating?
  • After eating, do you binge and self induce vomiting?
  • Are you ashamed of your eating habits?

If so, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Many college students struggle with these same feelings and can slowly find themselves with obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors that begin to consume and control their lives. There is help and support for you. If food, weight, body image, and eating are controlling your life, please help yourself.

  • When: TBA (depending on interest and availability)
  • Contact: If you are interested in learning more or participating in this group please contact the Wellness Center (x4409).  Confidentiality will be upheld to the highest standards.
