45 Alumni. 90 Minutes. 1,000 Meals for the Hungry.

Something extraordinary happens when the Bronco family comes together to help the community. Need hygiene kits for the homeless? The Santa Clara clan steps up. How about some help at an event supporting mothers and children in need? Alumni lend a hand. One thousand brown bag lunches for the food insecure? Broncos find a way. Be inspired by these stories of alumni helping others »

Meet the President

For more than 165 years one mission has driven Santa Clara University: to inspire service to humanity. Now is the time to build boldly, confidently, and creatively on that mission to shape our future. Join University President Kevin O’Brien, S.J., in a city near you to celebrate our alma mater and envision our future together.

Help a Hungry Student

Nearly 25% of college students nationwide lack consistent, healthy, affordable meals. You can help alleviate food insecurity at SCU through the Bronco Food Pantry. Donate items from the Amazon Wishlist or send a Target e-gift card to the Office of Student Life (osl@scu.edu) and they’ll make sure it gets to a student in need.

Let’s Do More than “Survive” the Holidays

On the eve of Thanksgiving, University President Kevin O’Brien authored an op-ed reflecting on the value of reaching across the table and engaging in a dialogue with those with whom we disagree. As Christmas approaches, may we aim to build bridges paved by human kindness.

What’s in a Name?

Today we know our alma mater as Santa Clara University, or SCU for short. Not so long ago the nomenclature was less defined—called University of Santa Clara, USC, Santa Clara University, SCU, Santa Clara, or just SC—depending on who you spoke to or where you read it. Find out how we got from myriad monikers to the name we know so well »
