Fr. O’Brien on SCU: Six Thoughts for Six Months

As we embark on a new year together, I wanted to take a moment to look back and share six things I’ve learned about Santa Clara in my first six months:
  • Bronco red is really my color—and I have a whole new wardrobe of shirts, sweaters, pullovers, and even shoes to prove it.
  • The progress we’ve made is just the beginning. Santa Clara’s reputation continues to grow every year with early applications up over 20% from last year.
  • With the steel rising, the new Sobrato Campus for Discovery and Innovation is REALLY big and is already transforming the heart of our campus.
  • The Hut is much cleaner and brighter than I had heard!
  • Our students are so kind, committed, talented, and fun to be around.
  • We have such a strong Bronco family. Our alumni are enthusiastic about Santa Clara and your commitment to this University inspires me every day.
I look forward to an amazing 2020 with you! — Kevin O’Brien, S.J.

Rest in Peace Jack Going ’49

With heavy hearts we share news of the passing of E. Jackson (Jack) Going, Jr. ’49. A private family interment will follow.
