University President Michael E. Engh, S.J., spoke of hope and optimism in his State of the University Address. He acknowledged the University's challenges and outlined steps to alleviate them. 2017’s Day of Giving on March 8 was a tremendous success with a record 5,324 donors to SCU—the most ever on a single day! 2017 Economic Forecast
Should we expect a recession in 2017? Not according to esteemed Professor Mario Belotti. He's optimistic about the year ahead, estimating an overall growth in the U.S. economy of 2.6 to 2.7 percent. |

SCU Findings on Diversity and Inclusion
In spring 2016 Santa Clara University President Michael E. Engh, S.J., convened a Blue Ribbon Commission on Diversity and Inclusion. With the hope that the SCU community will respond with openness, Fr. Engh recently released the commission's final report, which details an aspirational vision and suggests strategies to meet the goals of improved diversity and inclusion at SCU.
