Artist's Statement

In this body of work, I am highlighting the carefree wonder that children experience while engaged with nature. I reference photographs from my childhood to tap into my own feelings of nostalgia and fondness for nature. While this mindset may diminish with age, my intention is that these paintings remind us of our youthful, untroubled, and carefree feelings while in communion with nature.
