Hearst Grant Awarded to the Department of Art & Art History

The Department of Art and Art History receives a Hearst Foundation grant to support the Community Initiatives for the Visual Arts

We have exciting news! The Department of Art and Art History has received a generous grant from the Hearst Foundation to support a variety of arts outreach programs over the next three to four years.  The Community Initiatives for the Visual Arts grant ("CIVA") focuses on funding five key areas: (1) summer fellowships for students who undertake internships at local arts organization (2) special projects, such as student curatorial activities or social justice courses; (3) more courses in the summer for OSHER members (4) purchasing art for the university (5) exploring opportunities with the Leavey School of Business for expanded course offerings, such as classes in museum studies and arts management.
