Professor Kelly Detweiler had a solo exhibit at the John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis, Calif. His work of 40 new paintings includes humorous pieces as well as some that offer a shrewd perspective on the business side of the art world.

Associate Professor Kathy Aoki was in a pair of two-person shows in Korea where her work from her “Construction of Modern Girlhood” series was shown, exhibited four pieces in the group exhibition “Medicine Show” at the Central Booking Gallery in New York, and had one of her lithographs accepted into a nationally juried exhibition at the Janet Turner Print Museum at the Cal State Chico gallery. Aoki also prepared new lithographs, relief prints, and intaglio works for her solo exhibition in January.

Senior Lecturer Pancho Jiménez along with builder Rory Fukuda created “El Valle Verde,” a redwood planter box with ceramic tiles and vegetables growing within for San Jose Museum of Art’s exhibit “Around the Table” which featured pieces that examine the connection between food and art.

Assistant Professor Ryan Reynolds participated in a two-person exhibit, “Ryan Reynolds-Carol O’Malia,” at eh Stricoff Fine Art Gallery in New York City. He displayed 12 paintings around the theme of the human figure in movement.
