Kathy Aoki humorous performance at "Hello Kitty Monument"

Sunday August 26 @ 3pm San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, San Jose, CA

Known for her fictitious academic excellence, Aoki will reveal the historical underpinnings of the world’s obsession with cuteness while she reflects on her experiences as research fellow at Hello Kitty Monument. Suspension of disbelief is highly recommended, but not required. Suggested donation $10, free for students/members. Performance length approx. 35 minutes.

Come early or stay late to experience Aoki's #WishYouWereHere installation, which questions the world’s obsession with the Hello Kitty brand in a mock historical visitor center devoted to Hello Kitty Monument. Check out the selfie spot diorama, augmented reality, and audio tour!
