Congratulations to art history major Alex McCarty who had his research paper, A Collision of Titans: An Analysis of Antonio Canova and Napoleon Bonaparte, published in Bowdoin Journal of Art. Written for Professor Maxwell’s Cultures and Ideas course last year, the paper explores the relationship between Italian sculptor Antonio Canova and French ruler Napoleon Bonaparte. The Bowdoin Art Society is the only publisher of an academic journal in the United States and internationally that focuses exclusively on undergraduate art historical work.
