Studio Art Major Ciaran Freeman joins Recology Waste San Francisco Residency Program

Ciaran Freeman

Studio Art major Ciaran Freeman '18 along with Rodney Ewing and Beth Krebs joined the Recology® Artist in Residence Program in San Francisco this past October. Rodney has been pulling lath and other building materials out of the pile, thinking about the history of the city and its people through architecture. Beth has been attracted to color, odd plastic items, and objects that have a little personality, and is experimenting with large-scale still lifes. Ciaran is working on a series of figurative drawings on construction materials that speak to labor and personal history. He also plans to create three-dimensional drawings in wire. The artists have already been interviewed by KALW, so check our Facebook page for information about when that segment will air. Their end-of-residency exhibition will take place January 26, 27 and 30.
