Takeshi Moro on Finnish National TV

Takeshi Moro spent two-months of residency at Serlachius Museum Residency in Finland, He worked with local residents of Mänttä to create a karaoke video of their favorite song. The songs ranged from traditional Finnish songs to contemporary pop music. It also included longtime Finnish residents as well as new immigrants to Mänttä. Word spread across town about this project and eventually the YLE (Finnish National Broadcast) interviewed the participants and myself for a segment on Ajankohtainen kakkonen. At the end of Moro's residency, he organized a performance night, where Mänttä residents were invited to a sing-along event. Karaoke video is a rich genre for Moro to work with as it includes photography, video, sound, and text.
