Michael Hewitt was elected to Santa Clara’s Hall of Fame in 1998 as a member of the “lightweight eight”. He was an oarsman on the boat. His boat won the Western Sprints (now the Pacific Coast Rowing Championship) in 1981 and 1982, and was the last Santa Clara team to compete at the Henley Royal Regatta in England.
