Dick came to Santa Clara University to attend school and play basketball in 1937. He graduated in 1941 and joined the Marine Corps in 1942. After the Marine Corps, Dick followed his heart back to the Santa Clara University. At Santa Clara, Dick climinded through the ranks all the way to the Executive Director of the Alumni Association and Associate Director of Development. After twenty years, he retired but remained active in the University through the Board of Fellows, the Bronco Bench, and the Presidents Club. Dick’s loyalty will always be remember at Santa Clara.
