Phil Steiner was inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside the members of the 1965 Rowing team. This group was the first to row for the Santa Clara Broncos. They were nicknamed the Founders Club Eight and earned a league title in just their first season. Santa Clara Rowing Programs owe their elite legacy to Steiner and his teammates.
