GBP Anywhere Program
The GBP Anywhere Program provides MBA and MS students with greater flexibility by allowing them to enroll in elective courses across various Graduate Business Programs, whether in-person or online. This initiative offers several key benefits:
- Expanded Learning Opportunities: Access a broader range of electives across different graduate programs to diversify your academic experience.
- Networking Across Cohorts: Connect with peers outside your primary cohort, building a more diverse professional network.
- Blended Learning Formats: Experience both asynchronous online courses and traditional in-person classes, developing skills for varied learning environments.
Limitations and Requirements
- The GBP Anywhere Program is only applicable to electives. It cannot be used for core courses.
- Evening students must complete their core courses in the in-person delivery mode
- Online students must complete their core courses online
- Online students may take up to 16 units of in-person elective courses over the entire duration of their program (not per quarter), as long as they meet the necessary prerequisites. Similarly, in-person students are allowed to take a maximum of 16 units of online elective courses during their program.
- Students must take elective courses that fulfill their academic requirements and are approved for their program—the only difference is the modality in which the courses are offered.
- Tuition is determined by the student's original program.
International students may enroll in one online course per quarter as long as they are registered for a minimum of 6 units of in-person classes. This option is not available during their first quarter of attendance and does not apply to core courses required by the program. In their final quarter, international students must be enrolled in at least one on-campus course and cannot take only online courses. F-1 visa holders are also required to be enrolled in a minimum of 8 units each quarter. For the most current information, or if you have any questions or concerns about online course eligibility, registration requirements, or visa implications, please consult your academic advisor and the International Student Scholars (ISS) office.
Online Courses Participation
Evening students enrolling in an online course must complete an Online Student Success Seminar before their first online class. This seminar becomes available approximately 4–6 weeks before the course begins. Online courses are asynchronous, and structured into weekly modules. Students can log in at their convenience each week to complete assignments. However, some group work may require synchronous discussions.
Before classes begin, students can access Module 0, which includes the syllabus and course overview. This module opens on the Friday before the first instructional day, while full course access begins on the first day of class. Online courses are available through onlinelearning.scu.edu or camino.instructure.com, depending on the course platform specified.
In-Person Course Participation
Online students taking in-person courses must attend all scheduled sessions. All course materials for in-person classes are accessible via the Camino tile on the My SCU single-sign-on portal or directly at camino.instructure.com. For technical support, email camino@scu.edu.
Students should be aware that adding any in-person or online courses after a quarter has started requires approval from the Graduate Business Programs Office. This policy ensures minimal disruptions to groups that may already be formed, assignments and important discussions may have taken place, and students may not be able to gain timely access to Camino.
Platform Transition
The university is transitioning from the OnlineLearning platform to the Camino platform for all course materials and participation. Students should consult their Student Preview Sheets and Academic Advisors to confirm which platform applies to their specific courses.
