Christopher McNeil comes to the Center for Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the PhD program in Food Science at the University of California Davis. At CFIE, he is working on various postdoctoral projects exploring the role of new technologies in promoting more sustainable practices in the food industry and addressing current and future pressures on food systems. His past research includes using metabolomic and next-gene sequencing tools to study disease in citrus trees, analyzing chemical profiles of fruit and beer to understand attributes associated with quality and consumer preferences, and exploring low-energy, low-cost food preservation techniques in Malawi.
