Professor Thuy Lan Nguyen joined the Leavey School of Business in the Fall of 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Economics.
Professor Nguyen’s specializations are in macroeconomics and international macroeconomics. She is the author of multiple papers studying the sources of business cycles in both closed and open economy settings. Her recent work studies the effects of government spending and taxes on the economy, focusing on the period when the nominal interest rate is near zero.
A.B. in Economics and Mathematics from Lafayette College;
M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University.
