Teny Maghakian Shapiro
Assistant Professor, Economics
Teny Maghakian Shapiro joined the Leavey School of Business in the Fall of 2013 as an Assistant Professor of Economics.
Professor Shapiro’s research interests include health, education, labor economics and public economics. She has a paper published in the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Health Economics, and has multiple working papers.
Professor Shapiro came to Santa Clara from University of California, Merced, where she was an Assistant Professor of Economics and served as a Fellow in the Health Sciences Research Institute. She has also taught courses in economics at UC Davis, where she was awarded the Ray Beaumont Award for Departmental Improvement, and at Drexel University.
Professor Shapiro earned her B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from University of California, San Diego; and her M.A and Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis.
