Updated March 1, 2021 - The analytics field is a fast paced environment that requires regular updates so our graduates have the skills they need to succeed after graduation. Beginning in Fall 2021, we will roll out our new MS in Business Analytics curriculum. The new curriculum has been streamlined to add more flexibility while reinforcing key competencies.
These changes include:
- Calculus 2 will no longer be required for admission
- Decreasing the number of total units from 48 to 42 (32 core; 10 electives)
- Removing the Finance bootcamp
- Adding R programming to the learning objectives of the introductory math class
- Adding a new class to the requirements called Prescriptive Analytics
These changes will
- Allow our students to strengthen their technical abilities before really digging into the bulk of their industry practicum work in Spring quarter.
- Decrease the number of required units and thus, decrease the total cost of the program. Allow students more time to engage with each other, their practicum partners, our extensive Career Management programming and other extra curricular activities.
