Manoochehr Ghiassi

Professor, Information Systems & Analytics

Manoochehr Ghiassi is a professor of the Information Systems & Analytics department. He teaches courses in Systems Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Software Project Management, Operating Systems, Computer Simulation, and Structured Programming. In 2004 he founded the school's MS program in Information Systems, and served as the program's Faculty Director for its first 12 years. Prior to that he served as the OMIS department chair from 1994-2004.

Professor Ghiassi's research addresses topics in machine learning, neural networks, artificial intelligence, business analytics, and software engineering. He has published several papers in IEEE, AIIE, Computer Design, and Operations Research publications. Firms such as AT&T, the U.S. Army, National Semiconductor, Sun Microsystems, Mentor Graphics, Signetics, and Microtec Research regularly consult him for guidance with engineering and simulation projects. Dr. Ghiassi has more than 20+ years of experience in software engineering and has developed methodology and tools necessary to establish quality assurance programs for software validation and verification.
