Faculty Spotlight

Dr. Xiang Li , a Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Santa Clara University and current MBA student, has received a $169,201 award from the National Science Foundation. These funds will support her project, "Data-Driven Cascading Failure Abstraction and Vulnerability Analysis in Cyber-Physical Systems." The project embraces advances in machine learning and puts forth a data-driven framework for cascading failure abstraction and vulnerability analysis in cyber-physical systems.

Career Coach Spotlight

Here's a Tip from our Career Coach, Fred Mitchem about Career Choices: Did you ever say to yourself, “I would love to do this for the rest of my life, this is not work, IT'S FUN?”  The process of making a career choice begins with understanding the things in life you are most motivated by and identifying your interests. Ask yourself, “What have I always been interested in, even when I was a schoolchild?” Your response to that question will help you identify the area you should possibly pursue. Once you accomplish this you will experience job satisfaction and meaningful fulfillment in your life and career.

Fun Fact about Fred: When driving and hearing upbeat, thumping music, I blast the radio and use my steering wheel as a drum. Be yourself whenever and whoever is looking at you. People look at me strangely, but I do not stop. I am in my own world at that moment.
