SCU Students Take 2nd at Investment Competition
A team of undergraduate business students including Rob Mitchell '20, Filip Orth '21, Michelle Adelina '18, Jackson Polatnick '18, Stephanie Yau '18, and Robinson Lu '20 took second place at Google's regional Venture Capital Investment Competition that took place February 23-24.
Organized by the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC, this international competition assessed how well each school’s team functioned as a VC firm. After listening to startups pitch their ideas, each team was judged on the quality of questions addressed to each startup, how thorough their due diligence, how sensible their term sheet (if they decide to fund) and ability to explain their decision to a panel of real VCs.
"We are so incredibly proud of their accomplishments," said Christina Johnson, adjunct lecturer in management and co-coordinator of SCU's participation in the competition. "They worked hard over the last couple months, spending their weekends to prepare for this competition."
