Dr. Gail Kirby is a lecturer in the Department of Marketing and a faculty advisor in the Retail Management Institute at the Leavey School of Business of Santa Clara University. Dr. Kirby received her Ph.D. in applied economics from the University of Maryland. Her professional experience includes retail management and merchandise buying for a major department store in Washington, D.C.
Professor Kirby teaches Principles of Marketing, Retail Studies Seminar, Environmental Marketing, and Business Strategy. She is a member of the American Marketing Association and the American Collegiate Retailing Association. Dr. Kirby has also taught Principles of Marketing and Business Strategies for the University of California, Santa Cruz. Professor Kirby has served as a consultant to several business publishers.
