Sean O'Keefe is Course Coordinator and Lecturer of Business Communication at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. His responsibilities include curriculum design for the MBA and undergraduate programs focusing on effective communication in business contexts. He teaches graduate and upper-level undergraduate classes in “academics meets business” pragmatic environments. His teachings cover the following aspects of business communication: presentation skills, business writing skills, networking, personal brand, salary negotiation, video conferencing skills, conflict management, pitch skills, and more.
Mr. O’Keefe is President of SRO & Associates, a business consulting firm that specializes in sales growth, sales leadership development, sales & marketing strategy, recruiting and developing millennials, business communication, strategic partnerships, and more.
Before transitioning into academia and consulting, Mr. O’Keefe was the Vice President of Business Development for a regional tech company where he had P&L responsibility. Over a period of seven years and with 100% organic growth, he doubled its staff and quadrupled its profit. Prior, Mr. O’Keefe led the Premium Seating Department with the Oakland Athletics Baseball Company where he and his team set several sales records in the luxury suite, group ticket and corporate sponsorship categories over a seven year period.
Mr. O'Keefe received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2002. During college, Mr. O’Keefe interned for the Oakland Athletics, worked for the San Francisco 49ers in the Player Personnel department and spent time working for the San Francisco Giants. In 2008, he graduated from the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business with a Masters in Business Administration with emphasis in International Business and interest in Social Entrepreneurship. During Mr. O’Keefe’s graduate studies, he and his team won the prestigious Belotti Award, which honors the best report on business strategy.
