Ye Cai

Associate Professor, Finance

Ye Cai is an associate professor in the finance department, where she has been a faculty member since Fall 2010. She currently teaches “Financial Management” and “Corporate Financial Policy”. Her teaching interests include corporate finance, financial institutions, and investments. Before joining Santa Clara University, she has served as an instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her scholarship includes work in empirical corporate finance with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, board networks, entrepreneurship and venture capital, and corporate social responsibility. Her work has been published in several finance, accounting, and economics journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Economics & Management StrategyJournal of Business Ethics, and Econometric Theory.

She received her B.A. in Economics from Peking University, and her M.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University. She earned her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
