Application Checklist

Before you apply

You must hold an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent four-year bachelor's degree as determined by WES.

Your application will not go into final review with the Admissions Committee until all admissions materials are received (see the checklist)You are welcome to drop materials off at our office in Lucas Hall, Suite 116, or mail them to the Graduate Business Admissions office.

Here is a checklist for your MSIS application
  1. Complete your online application form
    Include your resume and essay question responses

    Online application fee paid by credit card ($100 for domestic applicants;$150 for international applicants)
  2. Submit your official GMAT or GRE exam results.
    Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores should be sent directly from the ETS office to Santa Clara University (GMAT code BV3-WB51;GRE code 7238).
  3. Submit your official Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) / International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test score if your first language is not English.
  4. Submit scanned transcripts from each college / university-level institution attended, including extension programs, or WES Evaluation for international institutions attended.
  5. Submit two (2) completed confidential Letters of Recommendation from faculty, managers, or supervisors who are familiar with your work. 

Your application will be reviewed to determine your:

  • proficiency in a programming language as demonstrated by competition of college-level course work
  • proficiency in statistics as demonstrated by:
    • having completed a minimum of three (3) semester units or four (4) quarter units of college-level statistics within the last 10 years (advanced placement credit will apply)
      or
    • holding a bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or the physical sciences, if accompanied by a strong GMAT or GRE quantitative score

Admissions Decisions

Applicants are admitted on the basis of academic ability as indicated by college records and GMAT/GRE, demonstrated career vision in the field of information systems management, personal and professional recommendations, and motivations to complete a demanding academic program.

Your MSIS application is reviewed only after it is complete and submitted within the published deadlines:

Fall Quarter
April 1  All International applicants and Domestic applicants who wish to be considered for scholarship
May 1  Domestic applicants

Spring Quarter
January 20  All International applicants and Domestic applicants who wish to be considered for scholarship
February 1  Domestic applicants

Admissions decisions are made within two to three (2-3) weeks after your completed application package is received.

A $500 non-refundable tuition deposit is required to secure a position in the MS in Information Systems program.
