Emerald Yeh

Emerald Yeh
Major: Accounting

What are your hobbies outside of school and work? I really enjoy yoga, hiking, and reading (specifically memoirs and books about psychology) during my downtime! I also enjoy trying out new recipes, painting, and stargazing.

What internships you have held during your time at SCU?

  • VMware - Record to Report Accounting Intern (Global Accounting Operations)
  • UK China Gateway - HR/Operations Intern (study abroad internship)
  • Deloitte - Audit Intern (virtual intern experience)

What is one piece of advice you wish you could have shared with your younger self? I wish I could have told my underclassman self to have more confidence in her skillset. There are so many intelligent, accomplished students in LSB and that may seem intimidating, but everyone has something to bring to the table! However, in order to discern strengths, weaknesses, and interests, it is important to take the time to sit down and reflect on your own professional development and career path from time to time. I think it would have been beneficial for my younger self to spend more time figuring out exactly what she wants to get out of a job, how her current (and future) involvements align with that vision and her values, and who she can reach out to in her network for advice and opportunities.

Ask me about… Big 4 recruiting process, interview and career fair tips/etiquette, accounting internships, studying/interning abroad, and taking classes outside the typical business/major pathway!
