| ACE Field Trip Opportunities for Winter and Spring
Thanks to a generous donation, the ACE Program is introducing and expanding experiences for students to connect with Silicon Valley companies and ACE alumni. A new company field trip program begins in Winter quarter providing all students the opportunity to take a field trip hosted by one of our terrific ACE alumni at their employer headquarters. Alumni at One Workplace, LinkedIn and Apple have volunteered to be part of the launch of this program. Each ACE student will be able to attend at least one company field trip. ACErs should look for sign-up information at the end of January. |
| Meet the ACE Student Coordinators
Jay Heinen and Evan Chen play important roles for the ACE Leadership Program coordinating all student seminars and experiences for sophomores, juniors and seniors. Jay, a senior finance major, first started working with the Undergraduate Programs Office as a sophomore. He has been involved with all of our ACE programming and is currently working with Kate Rogers to coordinate a special graduation event for ACE seniors. Evan, a sophomore from Portland, joined the office this Spring and is supporting all ACE seminars for Winter and Spring. Without their diligent work and terrific dedication, we would not be able to deliver on all of the great programming you experience with ACE. |
| Use your network: Leveraging the ACE LinkedIn Page
Did you know that almost 200 ACE alumni are members of the SCU ACE Alumni Network LinkedIn group? LinkedIn is an extremely useful tool for research related to industries, job functions and internships. Start by making sure you have accepted your invitation to join the ACE Alumni Network on LinkedIn. If your LinkedIn profile is not yet polished (sophomores your LinkedIn workshop is January 17) make that a priority. You should have an updated profile, with professional headshot, before actively reaching out to contact alumni so they can see and read about you and your interests. As a member of the ACE network, you can reach out to other members and use the ACE connection as the basis for your introduction. An ACE alum will expect a high level of professional communication and preparation when interacting with current ACE students since they have been in your shoes before. You can access the group here: ACE LinkedIn Group. Need help starting your LinkedIn network search? Let Brenda or Jack know. |
