Jackson Tuton: Working Towards a Better Future

Jackson discusses his first couple of months at SVCN as the new Marketing and Communications Intern.
LSB Community Fellows 2017-18

My first couple of months working with the Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits have been great! Between getting started as the new Marketing and Communications Intern, onboarding new staff, and running our largest event of the year, it was nothing short of fast-paced and exciting. We have spent our efforts focusing on critical sectors of our local community such as early childhood development and awareness for charities during the holidays.

I have been exposed to a variety of ongoing problems and solutions happening right here in the Silicon Valley, which has been extremely rewarding and eye opening. Through my internship with SVCN, I’ve had the chance to interact with other organizations that express true passion for each and every cause or purpose that they serve. While we often feel as though we are living in a time of widespread social disarray and polarity, it is refreshing to see so many people that have dedicated themselves to making the world a better place. My journey at SVCN has only just begun. I can’t wait to experience the development of my fellowship through the next year!
