Service. Academics. Leadership
The Global Fellows Program is a nine-month, multi-disciplinary leadership program at Santa Clara University open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors of all majors. Hosted and funded by the Leavey School of Business, the goal of the Global Fellows Program is to foster global citizens of competence, conscience, and compassion through an emphasis on service, academics, and leadership.
Who Are We?
We are the Global Fellows Program of Santa Clara University. Started in 2008 through the Leavey School of Business, Global Fellows is SCU’s premier professional Fellowship program, open to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The Global Fellows Program is a 9-month, mixed discipline program, meaning its offered to students within the College of Arts & Sciences, and Business and Engineering schools.
What Do We Do?
Fellows participate in a spring quarter leadership practicum that engages their knowledge of global citizenship and what it means to be a leader in the 21st century. The class also includes extensive research of the Fellows’ placement countries, and helps to provide context for the international work experience they take on the following summer. Following spring quarter, Fellows head abroad for a 5- to 7-week internship with a NGO or business that embodies the ideal of global leadership and reflects the increasing level of globalization in our world.
What Makes A Fellow?
Fellows are the change-makers, the go-getters, the leaders of their communities. The Global Fellows Program recruits exceptional students who are engaged, contemplative, independent, compassionate, innovative, and curious.
