What was one of your favorite classes? Visual Merchandising because we get to learn about the aesthetics and psychology behind window displays of fashion brands. We also go on field trips to the iconic streets of Milan to dissect the ways different brands represent their identity visually.
What did you like about your program/university? I like how my program is a perfect mix of American and Italian learning. I am learning alongside American students, but am being taught by native Italian teachers which allows me to emerse myself into Italy, while also reflecting among other students about the differences we've noticed about the different cultures.
What was your favorite place that you visited or favorite part about your city? Lugano, Switzerland has been my favorite place I've visited. Though it is only an hour away, it was a great place to escape the crowdedness of the city.
What advice would you give to the 2022 abroad students? Don't be scared to do things on your own. Study abroad is all about learning how to be independent in a place you are unfamiliar with. You will learn more about yourself and be able to discover your own interests!
