Angela Holzmeister is Lecturer in the Classics Department. Originally from Kansas, Angela completed BA in Classics and German at the University of Kansas and her PhD at the University of California - Santa Barbara, with a thesis on masculinity in the ancient Greek "romance" novels. She teaches ancient Greek and Latin language at all levels and courses on ethics, friendship, and mythology. Her research focuses primarily on Greek imperial literature and ancient philosophies of friendship. Angela is currently working on a podcast series that explores issues of ethics and art. This project is supported by the SCU's Center for the Arts and Humanities and a Hackworth Grant (through the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics).
