Dr. Allia Griffin

Dr. Griffin earned her Ph.D. in Literature and Cultural Studies from University of California, San Diego. She received her Master of Arts in English from Chico State and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Santa Clara University. Her research and teaching interests include: African American Literature and Performance, Women of Color Feminism, Cultural Memory, and Contemporary Middle Eastern Literature. Her current book project, The Radius of Loss, navigates the intersection of literature and performance emerging from the African and Middle Eastern diasporas through narratives of captivity, memory, haunting, and nostalgia. Her work has been published in a forthcoming anthology titled Performing Iran.
