
The Rev. Dr. John R. Mabry is pastor of Grace North Church (UCC/NACCC) in Berkeley, and Our Redeemer Lutheran in Oakland, CA. He received his master’s degree in Creation Spirituality at Holy Names College in Oakland, and his PhD in Philosophy and Religion at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. Formerly the editor of Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction, he currently teaches in the pastoral ministry program at Santa Clara University, and is the director of the interfaith spiritual direction program at the Chaplaincy Institute in Berkeley, where he also teaches comparative theology. The author of more than thirty books, he lives with his wife and dogs in Oakland, CA.
