Senior Military Science Instructor
Master Sergeant Alvarez enlisted and entered Active Federal Service (United States Army) on 25 May 1995. He attended One Station Unit training and was awarded the MOS 13B10 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Master Sergeant Alvarez’ assignments include C BTRY 1/7 FA, 1ID Germany; A BTRY 3/16 FAR, 4ID Fort Hood, Texas; HHB BTRY 3/16 FAR, 4ID Fort Carson, Colorado; First Army Headquarters (AC/RC) Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois; HHB BTRY 6/37 FA, 2ID Republic of Korea, C BTRY 2/77 FAR, 4ID Fort Carson, Colorado and AROTC Santa Clara University.
Master Sergeant Alvarez has held numerous leadership positions throughout his military career they include Howitzer Driver, Gunner, Ammunition Team Chief, Howitzer Section Chief, Ammunition Section Chief, Platoon Sergeant, Field Artillery Master Gunner, Battalion Operations Sergeant and First Sergeant. Master Sergeant Alvarez previously served in five Combat deployments and three Operational support deployments. They include deployments to Kosovo Operation Joint Guardian, Kuwait Intrinsic Action Operation Southern Watch, Forward Support Camp Casey Republic of South Korea, three Iraqi tours, Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) Campaigns’ include Liberation of Iraq OIF I, Transition of Iraq OIF II, Iraqi Governance OIF III, National Resolution OIF IV, Iraqi Surge OIF V, Iraqi Sovereignty OIF VI and two Afghanistan tours Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) Campaigns’ include Transition II and Freedom Sentinels. He currently serves as the Senior Military Science Instructor for Santa Clara University Bronco Battalion that hosts the AROTC Programs for Stanford University, San Jose State University and the University of California Santa Cruz.

Master Sergeant Alvarez has a Bachelor of Science and Arts (BSBA) from Excelsior College, Albany, NY and a Masters in Homeland Security from American Military University, Charles Town, WV.

Master Sergeant Alvarez is married to the former Annett Alvarez from Germany. They have three Beautiful children Alejandro (11 years), Isabella (9 years) and Amelia (5).
