Colton Heffington teaches courses on international relations and international law. His current research interests center on civil war, terrorism, sanctions, human rights, and international conflict. Forthcoming work in Conflict Management and Peace Science, Foreign Policy Analysis, and The Journal of Global Security Studies investigates some of these topics. In particular, his research projects examine public opinion and conflict, as well as third party nvolvement in civil wars. Heffington is also part of the ongoing Most Important Problems Dataset (MIPD) project that tracks public opinion about important problems in America from 1939 until now.
