Elsa Chen, Interim Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development
Elsa Chen, Associate Professor of Political Science, will serve as Interim Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development while Eileen Razzari Elrod is on sabbatical leave. Elsa has worked closely with Faculty Development for many years through her leadership of the Women of Color Network, a collaborative initiative of the Faculty Development Program, the Office for Multicultural Learning, and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. She has also served as member and chair of both the Academic Affairs Committee and the Rank and Tenure Committee for the Natural and Social Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences.
As Interim Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development Elsa’s responsibilities include support for faculty career planning and professional development; new faculty programs; teaching support; scholarship support; and coordination of awards for teaching and scholarship. She will work closely with the Faculty Collaborative for Teaching Innovation.
